About DMV Locations

The Arkansas Office of Motor Vehicles and Driver Services operate as part of the Department of Finance and Administration. The Office of Motor Vehicles is responsible for vehicle registration, title, and lien perfection laws. Driver Services manages the state's driver's license and identification program. It consists of eight different sections: administration, issuance, CDL help, safety responsibility, insurance verification, driving records, driver control, and facial recognition.

Vehicle registration and tag renewals are handled through the Office of Motor Vehicles and can be done in person at your local State Revenue Office. For a new registration, the vehicle must be assessed by your county assessor and you must pay any personal property taxes you owe. You will be required to show proof of this payment along with other important documentation in order to register your vehicle.

To get a driver's license or ID card, visit your local State Revenue Office. To apply, you will need proof of your Social Security Number, residence, and valid identification. First-time drivers and out-of-state drivers who have lost their license or have one that expired more than 31 days ago must also pass a vision and road test. Additionally, applicants under the age of 18 are required to show proof of school enrollment with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
